EUGENE STYLLER

Author and Artist

I started painting in 2019, four years ago, after a break of 65 years.

My first painting exhibition was in February 2020 at Burlington Public Library.

Over the past three years I have had7personal painting exhibitions. All of them are in local public libraries of great cities and towns of Massachusetts. I hope that this 2023 year I will have three or four more exhibitions.

The first two exhibitions I named As I see it, then Whimsical animationand Whimsical banana animation, and the last one in January 2023 I titled Whimsical Surrealism.

I have been working the same way these three years, and the subjects of my paintings are the same: bananas, peppers, potatoes, mushrooms, zucchini, eggplants, flowers, and some everyday items like a coffee pot, a coffee cup, bread, and something else.

My bananas fly, swim, play, and dance.
My peppers show a lot of human emotions: they smile, laugh, scream, look angry, and look dubious.
My potatoes have all kinds of human faces. Yet, they are mostly funny.
I even see human emotion on the surface of the coffee in my coffee cup.

I see it myself and show it to the visitors to my exhibitions.
I entertain the visitors; I make them smile and even laugh. I try to make them happy for a moment.

It is reflected in the comments left by visitors in the guestbooks of my shows.

Whimsical animation is an inexhaustible source for showing human behavior, human emotions, and faces.
In 2021 I started making abstract paintings and show them at exhibitions.
I cannot boast of prizes from famous exhibition curators, but I can be proudofthe very favorite comments by visitors to my painting shows.
